Happy Father's Day!

MY HERO

As I ponder the love that I saw in his eyes,
A Godly love, given without compromise....
I recall many times that he stood by my side,
And prodded me on with great vigor and pride.
His voice ever confident, firm and yet fair,
Always speaking with patience, tenderness and care.
The power and might of his hands was so sure,
I knew there was nothing we couldn't endure.
It's true, a few others provided insight,
Yet, he laid the foundation that kept me upright.
He's the grandest of men to have lived on this earth,
Although he's not royal by stature or birth.
He's a man of great dignity, honor and strength.
His merits are noble, and of admirable length.
He's far greater than all other men that I know,
He's my Dad, he's my mentor, my friend and hero.

Happy Father's Day! Today we honor our fathers and grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Today, I just want to honor my father. I want to say thanks for everything he does for me. For the many sacrifices he's made for me and his guidance. He is my hero and I hope that I am as good a father to my children as he's been to me. He has shown me what it means to be a man, and though I might not always show it and I might get into trouble sometimes, I am grateful for what he has taught me and I try to do the right thing. Thanks Dad.

We here at the homestead have been enjoying a nice, quiet Father's Day. Went out and saw Batman Begins and I gotta say, it was possibly the best Batman movie ever. The acting is awesome, the plotline is great, the dialogue is outstanding, and the gadgets and gear are really cool. I highly recommend seeing it, well worth the ticket price. Then we came back to a nice rib dinner. All in all, it's been a nice day. At the movie they gave out soem cool posters. They were in celebration of Father's Day from the Lucasfilm. They're pretty neat. I have a picture of one below.

I also want to wish all those dads who are deployed away from their families fighting for freedom and liberty a happy Father's Day. I wish all of you, my loyal readers and/or fans, health and high spirits. Happy Father's Day everyone. Catch y'all later.
